Lebanese-Australian artist Human Movement (aka Edward Macdonald) has gained widespread recognition for his unique brand of forward thinking dance music, informed by a love of hard-edged UK Garage, 90’s House and old-school Rave. Following breakthrough EPs, a pair of smash collaborative singles and vast experience on the live front, the Eora-based artist has amassed a cult following including nods from respected peers DJ Seinfeld, Logic1000, Ciel, Eris Drew, TSHA, Andras, Daniel Avery plus BBC Radio 1 stalwarts Sarah Story, Danny Howard & Pete Tong.
His steady release output includes acclaimed EP’s KINETIC (Of Leisure), Run It By Me (Defected) & Clutch! (HOMAGE NY) adding to collaborations with Made In Paris and 00’s rave royalty Paul Mac, showcasing Human Movement’s inherent ability to cross electronic genre border after border. Now his latest offering Yu lands with a classically refined sonic drive pulling from the bass-heavy, darker sides of UKG.
The past two years have seen Macdonald receive significant tastemaker praise. Most notably support from BBC R1 following his Future Dance ‘Track ID’, to spins across Boiler Room, RINSE FM, Mixmag Cover Mix, 16 consecutive weeks in the Shazam Dance Chart and official remixes for Adelphi Music Factory, t e s t p r e s s and Naarm’s Pretty Girl. Following a huge run of sold-out Headline shows in 2021/22, including a stand out performance at Lost Sundays, Human Movement is armed with unreleased material looking towards a memorable tour across the country and beyond.
