Who Is Arcadia
Who Is Arcadia is a proud Newcastle/Muloobinba resident originally hailing from Chegutu, Zimbabwe with a taste for fun, raw and rough dance music. Before relocating to Australia he was raised on the rhythm that defines African music. This love for rhythm and dance extends into his adult years and has led to the name ‘Who Is Arcadia’ frequenting nightclub and warehouse flyers in Mulubinba/Newcastle and Eora/Sydney.
This has been consistently supported by a steady stream of musical releases including the most recent physical release ‘19:44’. This well-received and sold-out four-tracker, inspired by Australian native bush has been supported by many artists within Australia and internationally. Who Is Arcadia is immensely involved in promoting other Mulubinba/Newcastle-based artists and events and does so most evidently through ‘Side FX’ a project and mix series that aims to shine a light on Newcastle/Muloobinba events, music and selectors.
Who Is Arcadia is also behind some of Newcastle’s most memorable dance moments. From the iconic NoFrills events, to being the sole support for X Club. and Kettema’s 4hr B2B, having done the graphic design for just about every rave in the city or more recently selling out his own ‘Open To Close’ 7 hr set headline show.
